Planning A Yellowstone Fly Fishing Trip - Firehole River - Part 6
It's not possible to see the trout, but all those disturbances you see on top of the
slick water are trout eating emerging caddisflies. They boil the surface of the
water in most cases but sometimes jump clear out of the water eating the
emerging pupae.

I was trying to capture the trout, which I could clearly see through my polarized
sunglasses, but because I didn't have a filter or polarized lens on the camera I
was using, all you see is glare. This image was taken near dark on the Firehole
River the last week of June.
