Planning A Yellowstone Fly Fishing Trip - Gibbon River - Part 14
There are a few places in the fast water sections of the Gibbon River where the
river is a little wider than normal. This area is not very far above Gibbon Falls.
There's a little difference in the type of water that's in this particular area. It has
some deep areas mixed in with shallow areas or I guess you could call it a
varying bottom. In other words, plenty of places for the brown trout to hide.
This is a wonderful section of water that also seems to have some larger trout
but that could be purely coincidence. Although I'm confident a nymph would
produce even more trout, we rarely find a time the fish won't respond well to a
dry fly in this area, particularly if it matches something that's hatching.
